Juan Boned, a fisherman from Formentera, Andrea fell in love with a woman of Soria, during his time as a sailor. They felt so happy that they accepted a job that required them to be together all the time, no more human presence for 14 years, watched and cared s’Espalmador uninhabited island, which is privately owned.
In 1972 they decided they could combine work and open a small bar located on the beach of Illetas. Then, you could only access it by sea and was frequented by ships that came alunos and Ibiza. John went fishing and Andrea served the delicacies that was bringing along an idyllic beach. Over time, a road to access land and the place became fashionable.


The business grew and now the three sons de the couple – Juanjo, Andres and Jorge – have taken the reins of this high quality establishment, where waiters, in pure white, walk barefoot on the sand.
